Year 1 have been learning about ‘The Jolly Postman’ in maths. ‘We have drawn a map,’ recounted Leo Lee-Smith. ‘On the map we drew where the postman had been,’ added Evie Lundie, ‘We also read some of the book, I really liked it.’ During a maths lesson they had to add odd numbers together to see if they will make another odd number, however they never did, even with numbers like ninety nine plus ninety nine!
‘Sadly the Jolly Postman hurt his back by trying to carry some really heavy parcels. We then had to make the parcels lighter by weighing them,’ quoted Leo ’The ones that weighed less than hundred grams the postman was allowed to carry,’ stated Evie.
